Our core technology stack includes Node.js, PHP, React, Angular, and Vue.js, while we are also open to expanding into technologies such as Python, Ruby, and C++ when a project requires it.
We are looking for a hands-on CTO who can combine deep technical expertise, engineering leadership, people management, and strong client-facing and business skills.
The ideal candidate will take practical ownership of engineering processes, system architecture, and team implementation, while also acting as a strategic technical leader who works closely with company leadership and helps connect technology decisions with business goals.
This is not a purely managerial position. We need someone who is still comfortable writing and reviewing code, making architectural decisions, solving complex technical problems, and working closely with engineers, while also being able to lead teams, communicate with clients, and contribute to the commercial side of projects.
Requirements: * 5+ years of commercial software development experience with strong hands-on technical expertise and previous experience in a CTO, Technical Director, Head of Engineering, Tech Lead, or similar technical leadership role. * Strong hands-on experience with at least one core backend technology (Node.js or PHP) and at least one core frontend technology (React, Angular, or Vue.js). * Deep understanding of software architecture, distributed systems, high-load microservices, system design, performance, scalability, security, and code quality. * Strong understanding of API design, service-to-service communication, integrations, authentication, scalability, and reliability. * Solid understanding of DevOps and infrastructure practices at a strong software engineering level, including Docker, CI/CD, deployment processes, monitoring, cloud infrastructure, networking, and troubleshooting. * Experience leading technical teams and mentoring Junior/Middle/Senior Engineers and Tech Leads, with the ability to work effectively across multiple projects, teams, and technologies. * Experience working directly with international clients and participating in client-facing technical meetings. * Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to adapt your approach to different personalities and levels of technical expertise and explain complex technical concepts to both engineers and C-level stakeholders. * Commercially oriented mindset — understanding the impact of technical decisions on cost, timelines, delivery risks, scalability, and project margins, and the ability to balance technical quality with business priorities. * Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to take ownership and make decisions independently. Upper-Intermediate English or higher. * Responsible, proactive, and open-minded, with a practical and collaborative approach.
Responsibilities: * Own the technical direction across the project portfolio — make decisions on architecture, technology stack, integrations, build-vs-buy, and engineering standards. Take practical responsibility for engineering processes, system architecture, technical implementation, scalability, security, and overall engineering quality, including standards for both AI-assisted and traditionally written code. * Stay hands-on with engineering — write and review production code, design and oversee distributed high-load microservice architectures, work with REST, WebSocket, and gRPC APIs, and help teams solve complex technical challenges. Act as the escalation point for critical technical risks and issues, stepping into troubled projects when necessary to identify root causes and unblock teams. * Own technical infrastructure and engineering practices — DevOps understanding of AWS infrastructure, Docker, CI/CD, deployment, scalability, and troubleshooting. Evaluate and introduce technologies and technical approaches that improve the reliability, efficiency, and scalability of our projects. * Lead and grow the engineering organization — mentor Engineers and Tech Leads, contribute to hiring standards and technical career paths, support the growth of technical leadership, and build a strong engineering culture as the company scales. * Drive presales and identify upselling opportunities — make technical decisions aligned with business needs, contribute to technical discovery, solution design, estimations, and presentations, and identify opportunities for additional functionality or technical improvements that provide value to clients and support business growth. * Handle technical audits on projects — assess technical quality, identify architectural, engineering, and infrastructure risks, and ensure that projects follow agreed technical standards and best practices. * Partner with clients and business leadership — translate business needs into technically appropriate and commercially viable solutions, explain complex technical decisions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, and partner with Delivery, Design, and Sales to keep scope, estimates, architecture, delivery expectations, cost, and business goals aligned.
We offer: * Flexible work format — remote, 8-hour working day without time trackers. * Competitive salary. * TIght-knit and friendly team. * Personalized career growth. * Up to 50% coverage of the cost of professional courses. * Vacation time, sick-leaves, national holidays. * Competitive bonuses for a personal recommendation of new employees. * Professional development tools (mentorship program, tech talks and workshops). * English classes with a teacher. * Corporate events and team buildings.
