We are a British—Ukrainian air defence tech company building distributed systems across the frontline. We are looking for a Research Engineer to join the team working on detection, classification, and localization problems in the radio frequencies domain. This is a hands-on R&D role with substantial ownership: you will work with raw field data, develop algorithms and ML/CV/DSP approaches, implement ideas from research papers, and take solutions all the way to deployment on edge systems.

What you’ll do * Own parts of the edge inference pipeline: filtering, detection, classification, localization, and related logic * Analyze real-world data, identify failure modes, and improve algorithms * Develop ML/CV and classical algorithmic approaches * Research, reproduce, and adapt relevant papers * Design experiments and evaluation methodology * Organize and participate in field data collection and testing * Build tools for data analysis, visualization, filtering, and labeling * Optimize algorithms and models for edge deployment * Work with engineers to integrate and validate solutions in production * Use agentic workflows to accelerate research, coding, and experimentation
Requirements * Strong foundations in linear algebra, probability, and statistics * Strong Python and general software engineering skills * Strong background in ML, CV, signal processing, applied math, or a related field * Ability to independently investigate technical problems, implement research ideas and turn prototypes into reliable production code * Experience with modern AI-assisted and agentic engineering workflows * English: B1 or higher (international team)
Nice to have * Radio Frequencies, Edge ML, embedded inference, robotics, or real-time CV * Detection, tracking, localization, sensor fusion, or time-series processing * C/C++ and performance optimization * DefenseTech, SigInt, or embedded systems experience * Active learning or continuous dataset improvement workflows
