The Role We’re looking for a QA Engineer who wants to build quality from scratch — not just close tickets. You’ll be the person who brings structure, automation, and a quality mindset to a fast-moving fintech product. This is not a maintenance role. This is a greenfield opportunity: there’s an existing test suite that needs to be brought into CI/CD, a product with complex financial flows that needs proper coverage, and a team that will give you full ownership and trust. Prove yourself — and there’s a clear path to QA Lead within 6–12 months.
What You’ll Do * Own the entire QA process: manual testing, automation, API tests, performance testing, release quality * Build and maintain an automated test framework (you choose the stack — we’ll support you) * Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipeline — this is priority #1 * Design and execute API tests for complex financial flows (deposits, withdrawals, AML checks, refunds) * Set up and run performance/load testing for payment processing endpoints * Define test strategy: what to automate, what to test manually, risk-based prioritization * Participate in sprint planning, estimate QA effort, flag risks early * Work directly with 2 backend and 2 frontend engineers, PO, and Head of Engineering * Improve QA processes with minimal disruption — evolve what works, fix what doesn’t
Must Have * 5+ years of QA experience (manual + automation) * Hands-on experience with at least one E2E automation framework (Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, or similar) * Strong API testing skills (Postman, REST Assured, or code-based approach) * Experience integrating tests into CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, or similar) * Understanding of test strategy: when to automate, when not to, risk-based testing * Fintech or payments domain experience (“transaction stuck in pending” needs no explanation) * Crypto/blockchain domain knowledge (wallet flows, AML, on-chain transactions, payment processing) * AI-native approach to QA: you use AI tools daily for test generation, API contract analysis, exploratory testing hypotheses, and log triage * Fluent Russian (team communication language) * English: reading documentation, technical communication
Nice to Have * Performance/load testing experience (k6, JMeter, Gatling, or similar) * Basic security testing knowledge (OWASP Top 10, common fintech vulnerabilities) * Experience in small product teams (not just large enterprise or outsource) * Diverse background: worked in different environments (startup, product, outsource) and understands trade-offs * Familiarity with monitoring/observability tools (Grafana, DataDog)
Who You Are This section is as important as technical skills. We’ve learned from experience that culture fit matters more than a perfect CV in a small team. * You adapt to existing processes before trying to change them. Your first month is about listening and understanding, not restructuring. * You’re autonomous but not isolated. You don’t need micromanagement, but you communicate proactively when something is off. * You’re ambitious but not political. You want to grow to Lead because you want to build great QA — not for the title. * You’re flexible in your approach. You don’t come with “the one true framework” — you assess the situation and propose what fits. * You finish what you start. Initiatives that live forever in “in progress” are not achievements. * You’re comfortable in a team where everyone is a friend, not just a colleague. We care about each other and expect the same.
What We Offer * Salary — depending on experience (negotiable) * Fully remote — work from anywhere (we prefer UTC+1 to UTC+5 overlap for team sync) * Stable product team — zero turnover, everyone has been here 3–6 years * Real ownership — you own QA end-to-end, no bureaucracy * Clear growth path to QA Lead within 6–12 months based on results * Direct access to PO and Head of Engineering — no layers of management * Modern fintech/crypto product with real users and real money at stake
