We are looking for a Middle+/Senior UI/UX Designer to join our team full-time and contribute to a large-scale web product for a long-term U.S. client.
This role is ideal for a Designer who thinks in systems, understands business logic, and enjoys working on complex web solutions within a multisite environment.
About the client and project:
Our client is a U.S.-based nonprofit organization located in Chicago that has been partnering with our company for many years.
We are developing and maintaining a group of interconnected websites for one of the client’s departments, all built within a multisite architecture on Umbraco CMS.
The designer may work across several projects simultaneously within this multisite ecosystem.
Current stage: Discovery
Technologies: Projects are based on Umbraco CMS with Front-end development on React (Next.js), Azure infrastructure.
Team structure: 1 PM / 1 BA / 5 Developers / 4 QAs / 1 DevOps
Requirements:
— Upper-Intermediate English (confident for daily communication with the client).
— 4+ years of commercial experience in UI/UX design.
— Experience contributing to and maintaining design systems (tokens, components, documentation).
— Ability to translate business requirements into clear, structured UX solutions.
— Basic UX research skills (usability testing, heuristic evaluation, interviews).
— Practical understanding of accessibility principles (WCAG) and their implementation.
— Ability to write clear and concise design docs and UX copy (labels, messages, tooltips).
Responsibilities:
— UX Design: Deep dive into business requirements. Developing User Flows and working with specifications. You must understand who we are building for and why for every feature.
— UI Design: Creating clean, functional design for Web (Responsive: Mobile, Tablet, Desktop) in compliance with WCAG 2.0 accessibility standards.
— Design System: Maintaining and developing the component library. Working with existing design systems (understanding the logic of Ant Design, Material UI).
— Documentation: Maintaining design specifications, describing element states (Design Specs, contributing to Storybook maintenance).
— Collaboration: Close interaction with the Stackholders, Business Analysis (BA) team to clarify requirements and with Frontend developers to oversee implementation (Design Review).
— Presentation: Argumentative presentation of your solutions to the Stackholders and to the team. Gathering and analyzing feedback for iterative design improvements.
