Requirements
3+ years in Performance AQA/Engineering or related role 2+ years ;Strong hands-on expertise with Gatling (Scala or Java DSL) Solid understanding of HTTP, REST, and WebSocket protocols Experience with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab CI, or similar) Proficiency with Linux/Docker environments and scripting Knowledge of performance metrics (throughput, latency, saturation) and SLA/SLO concepts Ability to read and interpret APM/observability tools (DataDog, Grafana) Familiarity with JVM basics (GC, threading, heap tuning) Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, ability to drive RCA Strong Java Core knowledge
Responsibilities
Design, implement, and maintain performance test suites using Gatling (Scala/Java DSL) for HTTP and WebSocket flows Define and execute load profiles (ramp-up, constant, peak, soak) reflecting real production usage Integrate performance tests into CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins) with SLA thresholds and gating Analyze test results (throughput, latency, error rate, p95/p99) and provide actionable recommendations Collaborate with Dev, QA, DevOps/SRE teams to conduct root cause analysis for performance regressions Monitor and interpret system metrics via DataDog, Grafana or similar tools Prepare dashboards, documentation, and reports with clear communication of findings and trends Support capacity planning and contribute to scalability strategies

Experience with both Gatling OSS (open-source) and Gatling Enterprise (scalability, distributed runs, team dashboards) Hands-on background in API test automation using Java (e.g. RestAssured, JUnit/TestNG or custom frameworks) Proven experience in functional and integration testing of backend services (not only performance) Knowledge of Kafka, Redis, PostgreSQL and their impact on performance under load Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS) Familiarity with capacity planning, scaling WebSocket scenarios, and long-duration soak tests Understanding of SRE practices: SLA/SLO/SLI, error budgets, observability-driven testing Contributions to open-source testing tools, blog posts, or public talks on performance/testing
