An AI-powered mental health and wellness startup that’s building a next-generation platform focused on personalized emotional support, journaling, and habit coaching. The product leverages LLMs and smart UX flows to adapt to user needs and deliver meaningful, safe, and accessible experiences.
You’ll join an early-stage team working on building core systems from scratch—including authentication, journaling flows, user state modeling, and AI-integrated features—while helping define the architecture and design language for all internal React-based applications.
Talent you’ll bring into our team: * 5+ years of hands-on experience in backend or full-stack development * Strong knowledge of Python and FastAPI for backend development * Solid experience with React and React Native for frontend/mobile * Proficiency with GCP and cloud-native development practices * Experience designing and building RESTful APIs * Strong understanding of system architecture, modular code design, and app performance * Comfortable working in a startup-like environment with high ownership and autonomy * English: Upper-Intermediate or higher for daily communication across distributed teams
Responsibilities: * Develop and maintain backend services and APIs using Python (FastAPI) * Build user-facing components and workflows using React and React Native * Establish visual and structural UI patterns across the React ecosystem * Collaborate with the tech lead and product team to align technical implementation with business goals * Ensure data privacy and compliance with secure data handling (e.g., HIPAA) * Contribute to agile development cycles, including code reviews and continuous improvements
Nice to have: * Experience integrating LLMs (e.g., OpenAI, Claude) or building AI-powered product features * Familiarity with Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), semantic search, or user-state modeling * Interest in working on products with ethical AI and emotional intelligence components * Background in mental health, wellness, or healthcare tech
