We are looking for a QA Automation Engineer to develop and maintain automated tests for a macOS desktop application.
The main focus of the role is end-to-end automation, UI testing, API validation, and improving the stability and maintainability of the existing automation framework.
Responsibilities * Develop and maintain automated E2E tests for a macOS desktop application. * Automate UI, integration, and API testing scenarios. * Write and maintain automation code in JavaScript / TypeScript. * Work with and extend an existing automation framework based on CodeceptJS. * Create and maintain BDD scenarios using Cucumber / Gherkin. * Maintain reusable test architecture using Page Objects / Step Objects. * Investigate failed and flaky tests and improve test-suite reliability. * Maintain test reporting, screenshots, traces, logs, and execution artifacts. * Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines. * Work with test environments, backend services, APIs, and cloud infrastructure. * Participate in code reviews and improvements to the automation architecture.
Required Skills * Commercial experience in QA Automation. * Hands-on experience with desktop application automation, preferably on macOS. * Strong knowledge of JavaScript ES6+ and/or TypeScript. * Experience with Node.js. * Experience with one or more UI automation technologies such as: * Appium * Playwright * WebDriver / WebDriverIO * Appium Mac2 Driver * other macOS or desktop UI automation tools * Experience designing or maintaining E2E automation frameworks. * Good understanding of Page Object or similar test architecture patterns. * Experience with REST API testing. * Experience with Git and CI/CD. * Ability to independently investigate automation failures and application issues.
Nice to Have * Experience with BDD / Cucumber / Gherkin. * Experience automating native or hybrid macOS applications. * Experience with Appium Mac2 Driver, XCTest, or XCUITest.
We are looking for an engineer who can do more than simply write UI tests — someone who can understand complex desktop workflows, contribute to the automation architecture, and improve the overall reliability of the testing process.
