We are looking for an experienced Backend Software Engineer to join our team. You will design and improve scalable backend services, contribute to architectural decisions, and help ensure the reliability of a production healthcare platform. This role is a strong fit for someone who combines solid technical expertise with ownership, clear communication, and product thinking.

RESPONSIBILITIES: * Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and REST APIs; * Lead complex backend initiatives and contribute to technical strategy and architectural decisions; * Optimize PostgreSQL performance, refactor queries, and support zero-downtime migrations; * Integrate third-party services and APIs into web and mobile products and ensure production readiness; * Build and maintain unit, integration, and end-to-end tests while improving test coverage and code quality; * Own and improve CI/CD pipelines and deployment workflows across cloud infrastructure; * Collaborate with product, design, QA, and domain stakeholders to align technical solutions with business goals; * Share knowledge, support teammates, and contribute to a strong engineering culture.
REQUIREMENTS: * 4+ years of professional backend software development experience; * Strong commercial experience with Python, Flask, and PostgreSQL; * Solid understanding of system architecture, design patterns, and scalable application design; * Hands-on experience designing and maintaining REST APIs at scale and integrating third-party services; * Good knowledge of database design, query optimization, and production migrations; * Strong testing practices across unit, integration, and end-to-end levels; * Experience with CI/CD workflows, cloud infrastructure, and Agile delivery environments; * Ability to work independently ramp up quickly, and take ownership of delivery; * Strong ownership and a results-oriented approach; * Adaptability and confidence in fast-changing environments; * Clear, proactive communication and a collaborative mindset; * English level: Intermediate or higher.
WILL BE PLUS: * Experience with EHR integrations and working knowledge of FHIR and JSON; * Familiarity with Docker and/or Kubernetes; * Experience with AWS, Datadog, or similar cloud and observability tools; * Experience with Redis, Celery, or other caching and background-task solutions; * Exposure to Machine Learning or AI-powered applications; * Experience in regulated industries such as healthcare or fintech, with a focus on data integrity and compliance.
