We’re looking for a Principal SAP / Ariba Integration Engineer to support an enterprise SAP integration program.
This is a senior hands-on technical leadership role focused on SAP Ariba integrations, platform configuration, and backend engineering.
You’ll own the technical direction of the Ariba integration, working across SAP Ariba SIM/SLP, Cloud Integration Gateway (CIG), Ariba APIs, Java/Spring Boot backend services, and AWS.

What You’ll Do * Architect and develop Java-based solutions integrating SAP Ariba with backend enrichment and risk data services * Own the technical roadmap for SAP Ariba integrations * Configure and support SAP Ariba SIM/SLP workflows, approval rules, custom fields, and risk modules * Build and maintain integrations using Ariba APIs and Cloud Integration Gateway (CIG) * Lead architecture decisions across Ariba configuration, backend integrations, and infrastructure * Troubleshoot complex SAP Ariba configuration and integration issues * Serve as the primary technical expert for SAP Ariba * Work with product, engineering, and client-facing teams on technical strategy and roadmap * Define development and configuration best practices * Conduct code reviews and mentor engineers * Lead a small engineering team supporting the Ariba connector
Must-Have Requirements * 5+ years of experience working with production applications using Java and Spring Boot * Deep hands-on experience with SAP Ariba * Strong experience with the Ariba Developer Portal, including application registration, OAuth, API keys, and token management * Experience with Ariba Supplier Data API, including pagination and bulk data handling * Hands-on experience with Cloud Integration Gateway (CIG) for ERP synchronization * Strong understanding of Ariba approval workflows and custom fields, including platform limitations and common failure scenarios * Experience configuring SAP Ariba SIM/SLP, including: * Approval workflows * Custom fields * Risk modules * Experience building backend integrations using event-driven architectures * Experience with AWS, including orchestration technologies such as Step Functions * Experience with NoSQL databases such as DynamoDB * Experience using AI-assisted coding tools such as Cursor, Copilot, or Claude Code * Strong knowledge of API authentication, credential management, performance, and security best practices
SAP Knowledge
Working knowledge of: * SAP S/4HANA * SAP Cloud for Credit * SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP) * SAP Cloud Application Programming Model (CAP) * SAP UI5
