We are looking for a versatile Middle+ QA Engineer who can independently own tasks from requirements analysis through final testing, is confident testing both web and mobile, works comfortably with APIs, and applies AI as part of their day-to-day QA practice. We’re not looking for a “task executor” — we need someone who owns quality on the project: thinks about risks and edge cases, challenges unclear requirements, and cares about the product as a whole.
Your responsibilities will include: * Test new features and enhancements across web and mobile (Functional, Regression, Smoke, Exploratory testing); * Analyze requirements before testing begins — identify risks and edge cases, and plan the testing approach; * Create, maintain, and execute test cases, checklists, and test scenarios; * Verify UI/UX, business logic, form validation, and integrations; perform cross-browser, responsive, and cross-platform (iOS/Android) testing; * Validate API requests and responses (Postman or equivalent); * Document defects thoroughly, track them through resolution, and verify fixes (impact analysis); * Apply AI tools for test case generation, requirements analysis, and QA process optimization; * Ensure quality across different user roles, configurations, and business units; * Collaborate closely with developers, PM/Product Owner, and QA Lead; proactively improve QA processes and coverage.
What we expect from you: * 3+ years of commercial testing experience, with the ability to own tasks independently; * Hands-on experience testing both web and mobile applications; * Strong understanding of test design methodologies and techniques, SDLC/STLC; experience with Functional, Regression, Smoke, and Exploratory testing; * Experience creating and maintaining test documentation (test cases, checklists, test plans, bug reports); * API testing: validating requests and responses (Postman/Swagger or equivalent); understanding of HTTP, REST, JSON; * Understanding of client-server architecture; confident use of Chrome DevTools (Network, Console, Application); * Experience working with emulators and simulators — Android Studio (AVD, logcat) and Xcode (Simulator, Console): running builds, configuring devices, reading logs; * Experience with network proxy tools (Charles/Proxyman/mitmproxy or equivalent): inspecting traffic, mocking responses, throttling and testing unstable network conditions (3G, offline, timeouts), reproducing error states (e.g., 500 errors); * Understanding of responsive and cross-browser testing, along with mobile-specific nuances (permissions, push notifications, various OS versions/screen sizes, App Store/Google Play release cycles); * Ability to read logs and monitoring tools to find root causes rather than just symptoms (Sentry/Kibana/Grafana or equivalent); * Practical, hands-on experience testing with AI (ChatGPT/Claude/Claude Code/Copilot/Gemini) for test design, requirements analysis, and process optimization — genuinely applies it, not just familiar with the concept; * Ability to analyze business requirements and translate them into test scenarios; comfortable working with incomplete or changing requirements — asks clarifying questions and proactively finds information; * Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments and with bug-tracking systems (Jira/Linear or equivalent); * Strong analytical skills and attention to detail; * English — B2.
Nice to have: * Basic automation skills or willingness to quickly learn the tools; familiarity with Appium/Espresso/XCUITest (mobile), Cypress/Selenium (web); * Experience with our stack: Playwright (web), Maestro (mobile), Testmo, Jira, Claude; * SQL knowledge for data verification; * Experience with cloud device/browser farms (BrowserStack or equivalent); * Basic performance testing (Lighthouse, k6/JMeter) and security testing (OWASP Top-10, ZAP/Burp); * Understanding of CI/CD and the role of tests in the pipeline (GitHub Actions/GitLab CI/Bitrise); * Confident with CLI/git.
Soft skills / Mindset: * Ownership of product quality — fixes broken processes and creates new ones where none exist; * Proactive (No Surprises Policy) — raises risks and issues early, doesn’t wait to be assigned a task; * Quality-consultant mindset — challenges business logic and requirements, cares about UX and the product, not just about “passing test cases”; * Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills, with genuine curiosity when investigating issues; * Clear communication and teamwork with QA, developers, PM, and clients; * Able to manage time across multiple projects and proactively signal overload; takes ownership of their own professional development.
What We Offer: * Freelance — a flexible format that fits around other commitments; * Work at a Top-employer company (according to DOU 2025); * A strong culture built on empathy, trust, openness, and real care for employees; * Competitive compensation with regular reviews; * Personal learning budget and access to top HR tools, platforms, and practices; * Team events and regular team-building activities; * Flexible hybrid (or fully remote )work model with an office in central Kyiv.
