We are looking for an experienced Python Developer (4+ years) to join an established remote engineering team working on an internal automation platform in the healthcare/insurance domain.
Most workflows are automated through web portals that do not provide APIs, so browser automation is a core part of the role. The engineer will own Python services end-to-end: orchestrating automations, building backend logic, running services in production, and validating real-world outputs.
The work includes both maintaining and improving existing automations and developing new solutions from scratch.
Responsibilities: * Develop and maintain Python-based automation services * Build and support browser automation workflows using Playwright * Monitor, debug, and improve production automations * Design reliable retry and error-handling mechanisms * Integrate OCR, LLMs, and third-party systems where needed * Work with PostgreSQL databases and backend services * Collaborate with the remote engineering team in daily operations * Validate automation results and ensure workflow reliability * Contribute to CI/CD and cloud-based infrastructure improvements
Requirements: * 3+ years of commercial Python experience * Hands-on experience with Playwright * Senior-level ownership mindset and production debugging skills * Experience designing retry/error-handling logic * Active daily use of AI coding tools (Cursor, Claude Code, etc.) with the ability to validate AI-generated output * B1+ English (written and spoken)
Would be a plus: * Prefect, Airflow, Celery * ETL/data pipelines * PostgreSQL * Docker & AWS (ECS, S3, Lambda, CloudWatch) * Basic frontend experience (dashboards/admin panels)
