Company’s mission: Softermii: Succeed Without (L)imitations. We will turn any idea into a valuable product.
Our plans as a company: We want to move from a regular outsourcing business to an ecosystem of outsourcing, education, and product development companies. Over the years, we have arrived at a highly personalized working model with transparent workflows. This model allows us to create software products that meet our clients’ goals with precision. We operate in an AI-assisted development environment, where engineering thinking, logical validation, and responsibility for business outcomes are more important than simply writing code.
About the Role: We are looking for a Strong Middle Manual QA Engineer to join our QA Office and take ownership of quality on an AI-powered revenue management platform being built from scratch for the hotel industry, serving guests, hotel staff, and administrators across 5 applications: Guest App, Product Console, Hotel Brand Console, Hotel Front Desk, and Employee App.
You’ll be the second QA engineer on this team, working side by side with the existing QA engineer to split coverage across all 5 applications, and collaborating directly with the development team and the client and Product Owner. The product is early-stage and evolving fast, so you’ll need to be comfortable working with shifting requirements and owning your slice of the roadmap independently.
Type of cooperation: Remote, Full-time. The project’s stated timezone is EST, but day-to-day hours generally follow Kyiv time — please be ready for occasional early or late calls with the client, up to 22:00 Kyiv time.
Key Responsibilities: * Review requirements and technical designs to ensure clarity and testability across all 5 applications * Design and execute manual test cases for new features and changes: functional, regression, exploratory, and cross-platform testing * Perform API testing (Postman/Swagger) and validate backend data consistency in SQL/PostgreSQL * Log, track, and verify bug fixes in Jira * Split ownership of the 5 applications with the existing QA engineer so nothing falls through the cracks during rapid iteration * Participate in Agile ceremonies (stand-ups, sprint planning, etc.) * Support and maintain test environments and test data * Document test results and test cases, and provide QA status reports * Support regular release cycles with solid regression coverage * Join client calls and demos, including occasional early or late meetings
Requirements & Qualifications: * At least 3,5+ years of commercial experience in manual QA engineering * Conversational English at B2 (Upper-Intermediate) level, with experience communicating directly with clients * Hands-on experience in functional, regression, and exploratory testing for web and mobile (iOS/Android) * Experience with API testing (Postman, Swagger) or a solid understanding of client-server architecture * Basic to intermediate SQL knowledge; experience validating data in relational databases (PostgreSQL is a plus) * Skilled in preparing test documentation: test cases, checklists, bug reports, test plans * Proficient with task/defect tracking tools such as Jira (TestRail or similar is a plus) * Good understanding of SDLC and Agile methodology (Scrum/Kanban) * Experience in cross-browser and cross-platform testing * Ability to work independently with ambiguous or shifting requirements
Nice to Have: * Experience using AI tools (Claude or similar) to speed up test analysis and documentation * Exposure to SaaS, hospitality, or PropTech products
Soft Skills: * Attention to Detail: nothing slips past you, even under a fast-changing scope * Communicability: you can sync clearly with developers, the Product Owner, Client, and your fellow QA engineer * Customer Orientation: you keep the end user’s experience in mind, not just the ticket * Self-Development: you keep your QA toolkit current and look for ways to work smarter * Initiative: you flag risks and gaps before they become blockers * Responsibility: you own your slice of the product end-to-end * Result Orientation: you’re focused on shipping reliable releases, not just logging bugs * Teamwork: you build trust quickly * Ability to Present Work Results: you can defend your findings clearly to stakeholders
Why You’ll Love This Role: * Ground-floor ownership. * Modern, AI-driven development approach across a genuinely multi-app platform * Broad exposure — you’ll work closely with engineering, the Product Owner, and a US-based client, spanning 5 distinct applications
