We are Giraffe Software — an Estonia-based outstaffing company that connects experienced software engineers with international clients and provides dedicated teams for long-term technology projects.
We are currently looking for a Senior Python Developer to join the team behind an enterprise resource management platform. The solution is designed for large organizations that run multiple projects simultaneously and need to efficiently allocate interchangeable resources across them. The project involves building a scalable system that helps businesses coordinate resources, optimize assignments, and manage complex operational workflows. How we work * Around 50% of working hours should overlap with the client’s US time zone; * Daily team meetings are conducted in English.
What You’ll Do * Design and implement scalable backend services using Python, Django, PostgreSQL, Celery, Redis, and Elasticsearch; * Work closely with senior engineers, architects, and product stakeholders to develop reliable, high-performance backend solutions; * Enhance delivery and system reliability by improving CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, and deployment processes in AWS; * Build and maintain distributed services and integrations with external APIs; * Support React-based frontend development and API integration when required; * Use AI-assisted engineering tools to streamline development, troubleshooting, code refactoring, and everyday workflows.
Requirements * 6+ years of professional experience in Python development; * Strong hands-on experience with Django in production environments; * Deep understanding of RESTful APIs and distributed system architecture; * Solid knowledge of PostgreSQL, relational data modeling, and query optimization; * Experience with CI/CD pipelines, Docker, and cloud platforms such as AWS or GCP; * Practical experience with asynchronous and background processing using Celery and Redis; * Proven experience building high-performance APIs with FastAPI or other ASGI-based frameworks; * Familiarity with Elasticsearch or similar search technologies; * Experience working with NoSQL databases such as MongoDB; * Practical React experience and a solid understanding of frontend architecture; * Confidence using AI-assisted development tools, including GitHub Copilot, Cursor, and Claude.
Will be a plus: * Experience with SSO and identity providers, particularly Keycloak; * Knowledge of GraphQL.
