About us:
We run a subscription-based creator platform and social network for the adult-content industry, operating at serious scale: 200,000+ active users, 30,000+ creators, and payment events flowing every second. Real money, real-time, around the clock. We move fast and we are scaling fast — and we are looking for the technical leader who can own that.
The role:
This is the most senior engineering role in the company. You will take charge of R&D end-to-end, encompassing architecture, delivery, team, and technical strategy, and you will be measured on outcomes and velocity. We are not looking for a caretaker; we are looking for someone who walks in, takes ownership, sets the bar, and makes the platform faster, more reliable, and more capable every single week.
You will lead a polyglot engineering org across the full stack — web, backend services, real-time infrastructure, data, and platform/infra — and you will be as comfortable in an architecture decision as you are unblocking a shipping team the night before a launch.
What you will do: * Own the technical direction of the entire platform — architecture, standards, and the roadmap to scale. * Lead and grow the team — hire, mentor, set the bar, and build a culture of speed, ownership, and quality. * Drive velocity. Cut through ambiguity, make decisions, and keep the team shipping fast without breaking what matters (payments, uptime, data integrity). * Stay hands-on where it counts — review critical designs and code, dive into the hard problems, and set the engineering standard by example. * Own reliability and scale — performance, uptime, and cost as the platform grows from hundreds of thousands of users toward millions. * Guard what is sacred — real-money payment flows, data integrity, and security in a high-volume, high-sensitivity environment. * Partner with leadership — work with the CEO/CPO and product to turn business goals into a technical plan and a shipped reality. * Manage the migration already underway (legacy services moving toward modern Node and .NET) without stalling delivery.
About you: * A proven engineering leader — you have run engineering for a product at real scale and owned the outcomes, not just the org chart. * Deeply technical and still hands-on — you can architect a high-throughput, real-time system and earn the respect of strong engineers because you are one of them. * Polyglot and full-stack fluent — credible across web, backend, data, and infra, and experienced in both Node and .NET (or able to clearly own a stack that spans both). * You move fast and make decisions — decisive under pressure, comfortable owning trade-offs, and allergic to drift and bureaucracy. * You have operated in environments where it is hard — high-volume, high-frequency, real-money, real-time systems. Experience in a B2C adult, gaming, gambling, or comparable high-adrenaline / high-impulse environment is strongly preferred. * You build teams — you hire well, raise the bar, and people do their best work for you. * Strong on scale, reliability, payment integrity, and security — you know where the bodies are buried in systems like this.
