The product A daily music-guessing game with over 50,000 daily active users and real revenue. We recently acquired it. The product works, the engineering around it (analytics, monetization, live ops, new platforms) is largely still to be built. That’s where you come in.
Responsibilities
You will own the data, the cloud, and the rails that make the whole loop measurable, reliable, and safe. * Own the serverless backend: Node.js + TypeScript on Cloud Run, Supabase, Firestore, and the AWS delivery layer. * Model and evolve the data across Postgres and Firestore. * Build CI/CD, infrastructure-as-code, and release automation from the ground up. * Build the analytics warehouse: event pipelines into BigQuery and the dbt modeling layer. * Own user attribution (Singular). * Own server-side config resolution and the live-ops loop. * Pitch in on the client (React Native / React) when needed supporting the Frontend Fullstack developer * Get into regional pricing and in-game-economy backend, observability and alerting.
Requirements
The stack What you’ll work with today: * Backend: Node.js + TypeScript on GCP Cloud Run, Supabase (Postgres), Firebase/Firestore, AWS (S3 + CloudFront + Route 53). * Data: Firebase/GA4, BigQuery, Singular (attribution), remote configs, A/B testing, and CI/CD largely to be built. * Monetization: RevenueCat, AppLovin MAX, AdMob, web ads. * Client you’ll touch: React Native (Expo) across web + iOS + Android.
This is the current stack, not a fixed one. Expect it to change as we scale: payments (e.g. Stripe), attribution (e.g. Singular), backend, DB, and analytics tooling are all on the table, and you’ll help decide what stays and what goes.
Must-have * 5+ years of backend / platform work on serverless cloud (GCP and/or AWS) in Node.js / TypeScript. * Strong data modeling across relational (Postgres) and NoSQL (Firestore). * Data engineering: event pipelines into a warehouse (BigQuery), strong SQL, ideally dbt. * CI/CD, release automation, infrastructure-as-code, and serious security hygiene. * Firebase depth (Auth, Firestore, security rules) and AWS (S3, CloudFront, Route 53).
Who we’re looking for * Proven scratch-to-production ownership. You’ve taken something from architecture to shipped to operated in production. * TypeScript / React fluency. * English at B1 or above. You’ll work with an English-speaking team daily: standups, PR reviews, docs, live problem-solving. * An LLM-native workflow. You’re a daily power-user of coding agents (Claude, Cursor), you author and use Skills, and you’re comfortable in our model of an LLM-maintained knowledge base and LLM-authored, schema-validated config. * Able to cover the other side. You will be working closely with Frontend Fullstack developer
