The role Ideals is an international B2B SaaS company building a leading Virtual Data Room (VDR) platform used globally for highly sensitive data exchange, including M&A, fundraising, legal, financial, and other business-critical processes.
Our Engineering organization consists of around 70 professionals across 9 cross-functional Agile teams. Each team owns a specific part of the product and consists of developers, QA engineers, a product manager, a designer, and an Engineering manager. Together they work on delivering meaningful improvements for our users.
We are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer (.NET) to join one of our teams working on the Ideals Virtual Data Room platform.
Our product provides an industry-leading user experience and already includes AI features across multiple areas, each owned by dedicated engineering teams. We continue to explore how AI can improve or even completely change user experience, document workflows, and engineering productivity.
To enhance engineering productivity and focus on high-impact challenges, we provide company-paid enterprise subscriptions to leading AI models. This allows our engineers to select the best vendors to accelerate routine work, improve code quality, and explore innovative solutions. We actively encourage integrating these tools into daily workflows to keep our focus on complex engineering tasks.
Tech stack: .NET Framework 4.7, .NET 8+, ASP.NET Core, Entity Framework, Web API, PostgreSQL, AWS, Docker/Kubernetes, ArgoCD, Git.
What you will do * Participate in all phases of the SDLC as part of a cross-functional product team. This includes, but is not limited to, requirements analysis, design, implementation, testing (unit, integration, and service tests), building, deployment, and operation of new product increments, handling change requests, defect resolution, spikes, and proof-of-concepts * Ensure high-quality solutions by maintaining acceptable test coverage aligned with the Definition of Done criteria * Be a proactive team player, contributing actively to the group’s efforts to complete tasks and achieve goals * Adhere to and drive modern software engineering practices through design reviews * Engage in mentorship and knowledge sharing within the team and the Engineering organization
What you bring * Over 5-6 years of commercial experience in backend development using .NET Framework and .NET 6+ * B2 level proficiency in English, both spoken and written * Solid understanding of the SDLC, along with software design and architecture principles * Expertise in writing both unit and integration tests while ensuring that best practices for testing are integrated into every phase of development * Expertise in API design principles, with a solid understanding of REST, RPC, including security considerations * Experience with relational databases (preferably MS SQL Server / PostgreSQL) * Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS is preferred) * Product-focused approach, consistently striving to create value for users * Strong sense of ownership, taking full responsibility for end-to-end development from design through to production support * Proactive attitude and a growth mindset, with a strong orientation towards self-development and continuous learning * Interest in AI-driven solutions, with openness to developing expertise in this area
Nice to have * Experience in product or SaaS businesses * Experience with .NET 8 * Experience with AWS (SNS, SQS, S3,EC2,OpenSearch) and Docker/Kubernetes * Knowledge of security best practices in backend development
