Technical Project Manager / Product Operations Manager (Remote) Location: Remote (Work Hours: 10am — 6pm EST) Office HQ: New York City, NY About Us We are a fast-growing technology company based in New York City, with a global team of passionate individuals. Our mission is to build innovative digital products that delight our customers and drive business growth. We embrace the flexibility of remote work while maintaining a highly collaborative and supportive culture. About the Role We’re hiring a Technical Project Manager / Product Operations Manager to bring structure to a fast-moving portfolio of web, SaaS, and SEO projects. You’ll manage a small remote team of developers, run sprints, QA delivered work, and turn the founder’s high-level ideas into clear, prioritized, execution-ready tasks.
This is not a senior engineering role — you won’t be writing production code. But you’ll need enough fluency in websites, dashboards, landing pages, CMS/static sites, bugs, and QA to communicate precisely with developers and to judge whether delivered work actually meets the requirement.
Your core mandate: make sure developers always know what to build, why it matters, and what “done” means — so that nothing ships broken and the founder spends less time on day-to-day coordination. What You’ll Do Roadmap & Planning * Translate founder ideas, notes, and business goals into a clear, prioritized roadmap. * Break large initiatives into milestones, epics, and sprint-ready tasks across multiple projects. * Maintain a prioritized backlog and surface unclear requirements before work is assigned. * Keep the founder informed on progress, blockers, and decisions needed.
Sprint Management * Plan weekly or biweekly sprints and assign work by skill, priority, and capacity. * Write clear tasks — descriptions, links, screenshots, acceptance criteria, and due dates — in Trello, Jira, or ClickUp. * Run async or live check-ins and track progress, blockers, and overdue work.
QA & Acceptance Testing * Review and test completed work — landing pages, dashboards, forms, redirects, mobile layouts, basic SEO tags, and user flows — before it’s marked done. * Compare delivered work against the original requirement and reject incomplete work with specific notes. * Write clear bug reports (reproduction steps, expected vs. actual result, screenshots, device/browser, priority) and maintain reusable QA checklists.
Developer Coordination * Communicate requirements clearly and confirm understanding before work begins. * Follow up on blockers without micromanaging, and coordinate handoffs across frontend, backend, design, SEO, and content. * Track performance signals such as missed deadlines, repeated bugs, and unclear updates.
Product & Website Operations * Coordinate landing page and SEO page builds from approved plans. * QA content placement, meta titles and descriptions, H1s, links, forms, and tracking requirements. * Keep implementation aligned with business goals across translation, SaaS, and marketing web properties.
Reporting * Submit short daily updates: what was completed, what’s blocked, what needs review, and what’s planned next. * Submit a weekly report covering completed, in-progress, and blocked tasks, QA failures, bugs found, developer performance concerns, upcoming priorities, decisions needed from the founder, and risks to deadlines or launches.
What You’ll Bring * Proven experience managing remote developers or technical teams. * Strong written English and the ability to communicate directly without creating confusion. * Ability to convert vague business ideas into structured tasks with clear acceptance criteria. * A working understanding of web development workflows — frontend, backend, dashboards, landing pages, forms, bugs, browser testing, and QA. * Hands-on experience with Trello, Jira, ClickUp, or similar project-management tools. * Strong attention to detail when testing and accepting completed work. * Reliable availability during U.S. Eastern Time overlap.
Nice to Have * Background in technical project management, product operations, web agency PM, or SaaS coordination. * Experience managing distributed teams (Ukraine, Eastern Europe, Asia, Latin America, or similar). * Experience working with founders or CEOs who give high-level direction. * Familiarity with GitHub, Slack, Google Docs, Figma, WordPress, Astro/static sites, or Laravel dashboards. * Hands-on QA testing or SEO landing page implementation experience.
What Success Looks Like * Developers always have clear, prioritized tasks and rarely sit on vague or low-priority work. * More tasks ship on time, with fewer bugs reaching production. * Faster QA turnaround and more predictable sprints. * Fewer founder interruptions for basic clarification. * A visible weekly roadmap, with fewer forgotten or unfinished initiatives.
Scope of the Role To set clear expectations, this position does not include: writing code as a primary duty, acting as CTO or holding unilateral technical authority, phone or walk-in customer support, routine support tickets, translation project delivery, or major budget and hiring decisions without approval.
