Job Description We are looking for a Senior Cloud Database Administrator to join the team for a large‑scale project. This role will be part of building and operating a mission‑critical IVR & Analytics platform that supports real‑time customer interaction flows and data‑driven decisioning at scale.
The Senior Cloud Database Administrator is responsible for the operation and reliability of cloud-based databases supporting both Real-time IVR / application workloads and analytics platforms (ETL pipelines, data warehouse, reporting). This role ensures high availability, performance, security, and recoverability of mission-critical databases in a large-scale, production environment, working closely with engineering, DevOps, and data teams.
Success in this role will be measured by maintaining stable, highly available production databases, delivering optimized performance for both transactional and analytics workloads, and ensuring fast incident resolution with clear root cause analysis.
Responsibilities: * Administer Amazon Aurora MySQL (OLTP) and Amazon Redshift (OLAP) across the full lifecycle, including provisioning, configuration, patching, and upgrades. * Ensure high availability, backup and recovery, and disaster resilience for production databases. * Configure monitoring, alerts, logging, and proactive health checks for database platforms. * Monitor and optimize performance for high‑throughput transactional workloads, ETL processes, and analytical queries. * Provide production support for databases, including on‑call coverage, incident response, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis (RCA). * Manage database security, including user roles, permissions, RBAC, and compliance with data security and audit requirements. * Support data platforms used by application services, ETL pipelines, and reporting/BI tools, collaborating with engineering teams on schema and data design. * Collaborate with DevOps teams on infrastructure changes and deployments, and automate operational tasks using scripting and IaC (Terraform / CloudFormation).
Qualifications * 5+ years of experience as a Cloud DBA / Database Administrator * 2+ years of hands‑on experience with Amazon Aurora MySQL * Hands‑on experience with Amazon Redshift * Strong hands-on AWS experience with cloud databases * Strong knowledge of high availability, backup & recovery * Strong knowledge of performance tuning, monitoring and alerting * Experience with Linux / Unix and shell scripting * Experience supporting high-volume, mission-critical systems * Hands‑on experience with IaC (Terraform or CloudFormation) * Readiness to participate in on‑call support for production databases
