We are looking for an engineer to join a client project where a scalable cashless payroll platform is being developed, helping digitize salary payments in emerging markets. The product focuses on real-time transactions, seamless bank integrations, and financial accessibility for unbanked users.
You’ll work on a mature fintech product (5+ years) with active development, modern infrastructure, and real-world impact.
Required skills, experience, and knowledge * Senior-level experience with Ruby on Rails * Strong experience building and maintaining scalable backend systems * Solid knowledge of PostgreSQL and SQL * Experience with Sidekiq, RSpec (testing best practices) * Experience working with REST APIs and microservices architecture * Hands-on experience with Docker and containerized environments * Experience with AWS infrastructure * Good understanding of OOP, SOLID, DRY, KISS principles * Experience working in Agile teams * Familiarity with Git (GitHub workflow) * Upper-intermediate or higher English level
Nice to have: * Experience with payment systems / fintech domain * Experience integrating with React-based frontends
Responsibilities * Develop and maintain scalable backend services using Ruby on Rails * Design and improve microservices architecture * Integrate with third-party payment systems and external APIs * Ensure code quality through testing, code reviews, and best practices * Collaborate closely with frontend and product teams * Participate in system design, planning, and estimation * Optimize database performance and system reliability
