For our client, a product FinTech company, we are looking for a QA Engineer (Manual) — Web, API & Integrations (Remote) to ensure high-quality delivery across a web product, APIs, integrations, and real-time features.
About the role: You will test the product end-to-end: UI workflows, backend/API logic, third-party integrations, and real-time functionality (sockets/WebSockets). The role requires a strong eye for detail, the ability to validate network/API interactions behind UI actions, and a practical approach to testing under real-world browser and network conditions.
Responsibilities: • Test end-to-end user flows in the web UI: forms/validations, tables/filters/pagination, file upload/download, and empty/loading/error states. • Verify backend logic and REST APIs using Postman; validate endpoints and payloads via Swagger/OpenAPI. • Test integrations between services and external systems: request/response mapping, payload validation, error handling, retries/timeouts. • Validate real-time functionality (sockets/WebSockets when applicable): connects/reconnects, message delivery/ordering, failure scenarios. • Perform cross-browser and responsive checks (desktop/mobile) across required browsers. • Use Browser DevTools for troubleshooting and evidence collection (Network/Console/Storage); export HAR when needed. • Identify caching-related issues (browser/CDN/service worker where applicable), including “stale UI/data” scenarios. • Maintain QA documentation (smoke/regression checklists, test notes, basic coverage) and produce clear bug reports with strong evidence.
Requirements: • Hands-on manual testing experience with web applications end-to-end (UI + backend/API). • English level: B2 or higher. • Strong understanding of REST/HTTP fundamentals (methods, status codes, headers, auth at usage level). • Confident use of Browser DevTools: • Network (requests/responses, headers, payloads, timing; HAR export). • Console (errors, stack traces). • Storage/Application (cookies, local/session storage; basic awareness of service workers). • Solid Postman skills: collections, environments/variables, runner; basic assertions. • Ability to read and use Swagger/OpenAPI documentation for API verification. • Basic understanding of socket-based communication (e.g., WebSockets) and typical failure cases. • Basic HTML/CSS/JavaScript knowledge for UI troubleshooting (DOM/layout issues, console errors, async behavior). • Strong bug reporting skills (steps, expected vs actual, environment/build, screenshots/video/logs). • Experience testing unstable networks (throttling/latency/intermittent connectivity) and validating retries/timeouts.
Nice to have: • Understanding of performance testing concepts (p95/p99 latency, error rate, throughput) and common bottlenecks (frontend vs API). • Experience with performance/load tools (k6, JMeter, or similar).
Deliverables / What we expect in practice: • Clear, reproducible bug reports with evidence and technical context. • Practical API and integration verification aligned with UI actions and business flows. • Consistent smoke/regression checklists for key user journeys, including real-time scenarios.
