We are seeking a dedicated Lead Automation QA Engineer to join our team at Dripify, a leading B2B SaaS product company.
We’re at the start of our automation journey and are looking for a hands-on Lead Automation QA Engineer who will actively contribute to writing and maintaining automated tests while leading the automation direction.A Java-based test platform (owned by the team’s SDET) is already in place. The current QA team includes SDET working on the test platform and General QA engineers who combine manual and automation testing. We are planning to grow a dedicated Automation QA team, and this role will play a key role in shaping and scaling it.Your mandate: rapidly expand automated coverage, establish a strong regression suite aligned to an evolving traceability matrix, and continuously improve the platform — not only through leadership, but through direct hands-on contributions.
Requirements
— 7+ years of experience in testing (with at least 4 years in UI testing and 2 years in API testing), plus 2+ years in a lead role — Strong Java skills for test automation development — Strong SQL skills for data validation and test setup — Basic Spring framework knowledge for understanding application architecture — Hands-on experience with test frameworks — UI testing: Playwright (or similar) — API testing: JUnit 5, Cucumber or similar (Gherkin) — Experience with WebProxy tools (e.g., mitmproxy, Wireshark) for traffic analysis and debugging — Experience with test reporting tools (Allure or similar) — Docker and Docker Compose for containerized test environments — Build tools: Gradle or Maven — Good understanding of HTTP protocols and browser developer tools for debugging and analysis — Proven ability to combine leadership with strong hands-on automation contribution — Practical experience using AI tools to speed up test case creation, automation development, and test data generation — Basic Bash scripting
Responsibilities
— Actively design, write, review, and maintain automated tests (UI, API, integration) — Be a technical role model by contributing production-level automation code on a regular basis — Own automation strategy, coverage targets, test pyramid, and quality gates tied to product priorities — Partner closely with the SDET to evolve and scale the existing Java-based test platform — Drive the traceability matrix — Prepare and present clear test reports, documenting coverage, results, and identified defects — Lead the growth of the Automation QA direction as a dedicated team is formed — Hire and mentor AQA engineers, set coding standards and contribution guidelines, run PR reviews — Conduct regular performance evaluations, provide feedback, and support professional development — Collaborate early with engineering teams, participate in refinement sessions, influence requirements, and define test strategies

— Experience with Python (pytest) for additional testing capabilities — Experience working with CI/CD pipelines and optimizing test execution — Experience with contract testing (Pact) and API schema validation
