It’s an amazing time to join Digicode as we continue empowering as many innovators as possible to change the world. We deliver outstanding technology consulting, R&D, design, and software development services in the USA, UK, and EU markets. This is where you come in!
We are seeking a Data Engineer to own the application layer and data pipelines of the CDMDIL platform. You will be responsible for migrating complex ETL workflows, optimizing Oracle Database performance, and modernizing legacy integrations. You will work closely with DevOps to containerize applications and ensure data consistency during the migration.
Project Context:
The CDMDIL Modernization Project involves a critical workload migration from a non-EU data center to a new EU-based data center. The primary objective is to transition from a managed Virtual Machine infrastructure to a self-managed, high-performance bare-metal environment to reduce costs, improve stability, and ensure GDPR compliance.
Responsibilities: * ETL Migration & Management: Manage and migrate critical data pipelines currently running on Informatica PowerCenter and Kafka. Ensure seamless data flow between Salesforce (OneCRM), IBM MQ, and local Oracle databases. * Oracle Database Development: Optimize database performance, manage PL/SQL logic, and support the Oracle APEX front-end application. Handle database upgrades (e.g., moving to Oracle 19c/21c) and address desupported features. * Legacy Modernization: Reverse-engineer and containerize legacy monolithic ETL scripts running on VMs. Implement the “Strangler Fig” pattern to gradually route traffic from legacy systems to new Kubernetes-based implementations. * Job Scheduling: Manage and upgrade Automic job scheduling workflows. * Data Integrity & Compliance: Ensure all data handling complies with GDPR, particularly regarding personal data stored in the Oracle database.
Nice to have: * Experience analyzing legacy systems using tools like strace, lsof, or netstat to determine dependencies. * Knowledge of Salesforce Connectors and cloud-based data integration.
