Team: You’ll join the sales & growth direction and take ownership of our Upwork channel under mentorship from a more senior teammate. This role is about learning fast, building taste for good proposals, and understanding how design agencies win work on platforms — not just sending bids.
What’s happening Upwork is not “send 100 proposals and hope for the best” anymore. It’s a system: positioning, timing, keywords, communication quality, and follow-ups.
We’re separating roles so our inbound manager can focus on incoming leads, and you’ll focus on Upwork as a standalone growth channel. You won’t be thrown into chaos alone — there’s onboarding, examples, and support — but we do expect curiosity and ownership.
You might be a match if: — You’ve worked with Upwork as a freelancer, assistant, or junior sales/sourcing role; — OR you’re from recruiting/sourcing and understand how personalization works; — You enjoy writing and tweaking messages until they actually convert; — You’re not afraid of repetitive work if you understand how it leads to results.
We see a match if: — You’re attentive to details and notice patterns (what works / what doesn’t); — You’re comfortable working with written English daily; — You can follow processes — and improve them over time; — You ask why, not just what to do; — You’re okay with a learning curve and feedback loops.
What you’ll actually do: — Search for relevant jobs on Upwork (UX/UI, Product Design, related services); — Write personalized proposals (with templates, examples, and guidance); — Respond to invites and incoming messages; — Manage written communication with potential clients; — Book intro calls and hand over qualified leads; — Update profiles, portfolios, and catalogs on Upwork; — Log leads and activities in HubSpot CRM; — Maintain basic tracking in Google Sheets; — Help collect client feedback and reviews; — Occasionally support with: — market / competitor research — invoice or hour logging (when needed).
Must-have: — Background in IT / design / digital agencies (would be a plus); — English Upper-Intermediate (B2); — Basic understanding of how Upwork works; — Strong written communication skills; — Responsibility and consistency; — Willingness to learn and improve fast.
