We are seeking a QA Automation Team Lead to drive the design, delivery, and continuous improvement of our real-time data streaming platform. This is a hands-on leadership role that blends technical depth, people management, and quality focus. You will lead a team working closely with engineering, data, and product colleagues to deliver scalable, low-latency pipelines that power mission-critical use cases — from real-time analytics to personalized user experiences. The team works with technologies such as Kafka Streams, Flink, and the JVM ecosystem (Java/Scala) to enable reliable and high-performance event-driven solutions.
What You’ll Be Driving: — Building, guiding, and mentoring a high-performing engineering team, hiring, retaining, and developing top talent; — Driving quality assurance and automation practices across the team, embedding testing and observability into every stage of delivery; — Supporting and coordinating the planning and delivery of real-time streaming pipelines, focusing on high quality standards; — Translating business requirements into robust solutions in partnership with product, data engineering, and analytics teams; — Championing system performance, fault tolerance, and exactly-once semantics in streaming jobs; — Defining project goals, enforcing agile methodologies, improving development processes, and tracking delivery against KPIs/OKRs; — Evaluating and adopting new tools and technologies to strengthen the event-driven platform; — Maintaining clear and comprehensive documentation of system architecture and technical designs.
What Makes You a GR8 Fit: — 5+ years of experience in team leadership roles with a proven record of growing, motivating, and retaining talent; — Strong proficiency in Java; — Knowledge of and experience with Apache Kafka; — Enforcing high standards for testing, CI/CD, and release quality, with a background in QA or automation engineering; — Delivering complex projects on time, within scope, and aligned to business goals, with experience in project management or delivery coordination; — Communicating technical concepts clearly to both engineers and business stakeholders; — Fostering an inclusive, collaborative team culture with strong people orientation; — Demonstrating strong problem-solving, risk assessment, and decision-making abilities; — Applying familiarity with containerization, infrastructure-as-code, and CI/CD pipelines. — Upper-Intermediate English level.
Will be a plus: — Hands-on experience with Apache Kafka and at least one stream processing framework (Flink, Kafka Streams, or equivalent); — Understanding distributed systems, data consistency models, and stream processing semantics.
