We are looking for a high-performance Senior PHP Developer (BigCommerce certified) to join our client’s team — a fast-growing wellness and lifestyle company based in Germany, building a modern digital experience for private spa locations.
Project — is a customer-facing digital platform that supports the end-to-end operation of private spa locations, covering online booking, payments, customer accounts, location-based services, and internal operational workflows and analytics, with a strong focus on scalability, reliability, and high-quality user experience as the business expands across multiple cities.
Requirements: * 5+ years of experience in backend development with PHP. * Strong hands-on experience with Symfony (services, APIs, architecture, best practices). * Proven experience with BigCommerce, including custom integrations and backend-driven storefront logic (BigCommerce certification is required). * Solid understanding of e-commerce platforms, order lifecycles, payments, vouchers/gift cards, and booking flows. * Experience with authentication, authorization, and session management for customer-facing platforms. * Experience building and maintaining RESTful APIs and integrating third-party systems. * Good understanding of code quality, testing, and debugging in production environments. * Upper-Intermediate English level, with confident verbal and written communication. * Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently in a senior role.
Nice to have: * Experience with Showare and/or Xental.
Responsibilities: * Rebuild the customer platform on BigCommerce, owning backend architecture, integrations, and data flows. * Implement and maintain Symfony (PHP) services and APIs to support booking, vouchers, customer accounts, and operational workflows. * Integrate BigCommerce with external systems such as the booking engine, voucher/gift card logic, payments, email/SMS notifications, and analytics. * Design and migrate data sets, including customers, orders, vouchers, bookings, locations, and pricing rules, ensuring data quality and robust rollback plans. * Build secure authentication and session flows for the customer portal (for example, booking management, cancellations, and refunds rules).
