We’re looking for a skilled and adaptable WordPress/CMS Engineer with solid experience in website development.
Key responsibilities: * Develop, implement, and maintain custom WordPress websites, plugins, and backend features * Collaborate with the design team to ensure technical feasibility and execution of creative ideas * Provide estimates and work towards meeting deadlines. * Customize and extend WordPress functionality through custom plugins and themes * Optimize backend performance and implement best practices for scalability and security * Troubleshoot and resolve backend issues, bugs, and performance bottlenecks * Communicate proactively about technical challenges, risks, and solutions * Integrate third-party APIs and systems as needed * Ensure websites follow SEO and accessibility best practices on the backend
Required skills and qualifications: * 5+ years of experience with WordPress backend development, PHP, and MySQL * Proficiency in creating custom WordPress themes and plugins from scratch * Strong understanding of WordPress REST API, ACF (Advanced Custom Fields), WP-CLI, and custom post types * Familiarity with version control tools such as Git * Experience with WooCommerce is a plus * Solid knowledge of website performance optimization and security best practices * Ability to work independently and manage time effectively * Excellent English speaking and writing skills
Preferred (nice to have) qualifications: * Proficiency in front-end technologies like HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and responsive design. * Understanding of SEO best practices and website performance optimization. * Experience integrating third-party tools and APIs. * Knowledge of Headless CMS technologies and JavaScript frameworks (e.g., React, Vue.js).
