We are looking for a Head of Engineering Productivity (AI-Enabled) to join us as part of our team. About the role: The Head of Engineering Productivity (AI-Enabled) drives SPD Technology’s transformation toward a modern, AI-augmented software delivery lifecycle (SDLC) — not limited to engineering, but including product management, architecture, design, QA, and support functions. This senior leader owns the strategy, enablement, and measurable improvement of delivery productivity across all BUs through AI-assisted workflows, engineering excellence, modern SDLC practices, and next-generation tooling.
The role is 80% focused on delivery productivity & SDLC modernization, and 20% on broader organizational AI enablement and cultural development. A strong candidate combines engineering leadership experience with hands-on understanding of modern AI tools, continuous curiosity about the AI landscape, and a business-first mindset to ensure SPD provides competitive, future-ready services to clients.
The ideal leader is genuinely passionate about AI, keeps up-to-date with industry evolution, and can inspire teams by translating AI potential into clear, practical, safe, high-impact delivery improvements which leads to reduction of development costs and maximizing value delivered to clients.
Schedule: The work schedule is flexible with the requirement to attend all meetings. As a qualified expert, You will be responsible for: — SDLC Modernization & Engineering Excellence * Lead SPD’s SDLC evolution (including engineering, PM, QA, architecture, design) with AI-enabled workflows and productivity standards. * Maintain and regularly evolve playbooks, templates, and delivery excellence practices. * Introduce and scale AI-assisted development patterns: coding, testing, estimation, architecture, workflow optimization. * Run productivity-oriented R&D, experiments, and proof-of-value initiatives. * Drive improvements through the AI Productivity Board and collaborate with architects, EMs, PMs, QA leads, designers, and BU leadership.
— Developer & Delivery Tooling Leadership * Own the strategy, evaluation, and rollout of AI-augmented development tools (Copilot, Cursor, JetBrains AI, Claude Code, agentic dev tools). * Build structured ROI and usage feedback loops to maximize developer and delivery efficiency. * Collaborate with IT, Security, and Compliance on safe, compliant, scalable enterprise deployments.
— BU Enablement, Adoption & Cross-Org Rollout * Support and coordinate BU-level AI Productivity champions. * Define structured adoption frameworks, onboarding guidelines, and tooling standards. * Facilitate BU-level dashboards and reporting for productivity and tool adoption. * Ensure rollout is aligned with BU delivery constraints, client needs, and engagement realities.
— AI Culture, Education & Knowledge Sharing * Foster an AI-first, problem-first mindset across the whole delivery organization. * Co-own AI learning paths for engineers, PMs, QA, BA, and product teams with L&D. * Maintain knowledge assets: internal patterns, best practices, reference materials, demos, meetups, communities of practice. * Inspire teams through hands-on expertise, up-to-date knowledge, and practical examples.
— Tool Governance & Safe AI Usage Standards * Define guidelines for prompting, AI coding patterns, testing, accuracy validation, and workflow guardrails. * Maintain AI usage standards and policies together with Security & Compliance. * Anticipate and mitigate risks including data exposure, misuse, and resistance to change.
— Performance Measurement & Impact Tracking * Define and maintain AI productivity KPIs and qualitative indicators. * Track adoption, satisfaction, and measurable improvements across all BUs. * Provide regular visibility and insights to executive leadership. * Ensure continuous feedback loops with delivery teams, architecture, and tooling stakeholders.
— Leadership Transparency, Insight & Strategic Support * Support the VP Delivery in shaping SPD’s AI productivity strategy. * Communicate progress, insights, expectations, and risks clearly to leadership. * Help leadership anticipate and plan for evolving AI technology and productivity opportunities.

Applied Layer (Immediate / Day-One Focus)
Establish measurable productivity and AI-adoption baselines across all delivery teams, including clear KPIs, qualitative indicators, and tracking mechanisms.
Ensure delivery teams are fully equipped—methodology, tools, education, governance, playbooks—to operate a modern AI-driven SDLC that reflects (and exceeds) current industry practices.
Demonstrate consistent, tangible productivity growth tied to AI-augmented development patterns, improved workflows, tooling adoption, and broader SDLC enhancements.
Build trust and operational reliability around AI-enabled processes, ensuring teams know when and how to apply AI effectively, safely, and efficiently.
Business Layer (Growth / Strategic Evolution Areas)
Shape a holistic SPD-wide viewpoint on how to increase value delivered to clients in the post-AI era—connecting productivity gains, faster delivery, improved quality, and new solution capabilities.
Define monetizable opportunities enabled by AI-driven delivery: accelerators, reusable components, AI-enhanced services, low-code/no-code integrations, and advisory offerings.
Prepare SPD leadership and teams to evolve the business model to remain competitive as AI technologies progress—aligning service portfolio, roles, skillsets, pricing models, and engagement structures with the future demands of clients.
Strengthen SPD’s market positioning as a forward-looking, efficient, AI-enabled engineering partner that can both scale reliably and drive innovation. We’re looking for you if you have: * 5+ years in engineering management, DevEx, delivery excellence, or SDLC leadership roles. * Strong understanding of end-to-end SDLC (including product, architecture, QA, design, and support). * Hands-on experience with AI-assisted development tools (Copilot, Cursor, Claude Code, test-gen tools, etc). * Solid understanding of AI fundamentals (LLMs, RAG, agentic workflows, transformers) and desire to stay up-to-date. * Experience leading cross-functional initiatives and influencing teams in a matrix organization. * Strong communication, stakeholder management, and coaching abilities. * Experience running structured rollouts, experiments, pilots, and transformation initiatives. * KPI-driven, analytical mindset with ability to measure impact. * Knowledge of AI-related security, compliance, and safe tooling usage standards.
Would be a plus: * Master’s degree in a related field. * Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), microservices, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) * Experience in large-scale system design and distributed systems. * Experience leading architecture review boards or similar governance bodies.
