About the project: E-commerce domain (Sweden). We’re building an internal management platform that covers multiple aspects of online sales for a wide range of products. The system includes numerous integrations and data flows — fetching data from external sources and pushing updates to other systems. The engineer will work directly with the client, clarify requirements, demo progress, and deliver end-to-end backend functionality (admin panel on the front-end side — basic skills are enough).
Requirements: ● 4+ years of commercial experience in backend development (Node.js); ● Strong proficiency in JavaScript (ES6+) and TypeScript; ● Hands-on experience with Node.js frameworks (NestJS is a plus / preferred); ● Solid understanding of REST APIs (and/or GraphQL), API versioning, and integration patterns; ● Strong experience with databases: PostgreSQL (plus understanding of indexes, transactions, performance); ● Understanding of software architecture, design patterns, and ability to design solutions from scratch; ● Good knowledge of testing practices (unit/integration), debugging, and quality ownership; ● Ability to work independently: clarify requirements, estimate tasks, manage time, and validate results; ● Strong communication skills and readiness for regular client communication (weekly sync + async via Slack/email); ● English: Upper-Intermediate or higher.
Responsibilities: ● Design and develop backend services using Node.js/TypeScript, focusing on scalability and maintainability; ● Build and maintain integrations (pull/push data, handle third-party APIs, webhooks, retries, idempotency where needed); ● Collaborate directly with the client to clarify requirements, align expectations, and demonstrate progress; ● Own the delivery cycle: estimates, implementation, testing, and release readiness; ● Ensure robust error handling, logging, and monitoring-ready code; ● Support basic admin-panel needs (basic FE involvement when required — no complex UI work).
Nice to have: ● Experience starting a project from scratch (architecture, boilerplate, tooling); ● Basic DevOps skills: CI/CD basics, deployments, environment configuration; ● Experience with AWS (any relevant services); ● Docker and basic containerization knowledge; ● Experience with microservices or modular monolith approach; ● Experience with message queues (SQS/RabbitMQ/Kafka) and background jobs; ● Experience with integration-heavy platforms (e-commerce, ERP, PIM, OMS, shipping, marketplaces).
What will you get: ● Competitive salary and good compensation package; ● Exciting, challenging and stable startup projects with a modern stack; ● Corporate English course; ● Ability to practice English and communication skills through permanent interaction with clients from all over the world; ● Professional study compensation, online courses and certifications; ● Career development opportunity, semi-annual and annual salary review process; ● Necessary equipment to perform work tasks; ● VIP medical insurance or sports coverage; ● Informal and friendly atmosphere; ● The ability to focus on your work: a lack of bureaucracy and micromanagement; ● Flexible working hours (start your day between 8:00 and 11:30); ● Team buildings, corporate events; ● Paid vacation (18 working days) and sick leaves; ● Cozy offices in 2 cities ( Kyiv & Lviv ) with electricity and Wi-Fi ( Generator & Starlink ) ● Compensation for coworking (except for employees from Kyiv and Lviv) ● Corporate lunch + soft skills clubs ● Unlimited work from home from anywhere in the world (remote); ● Geniusee has its own charity fund.
