Attitude Calculation & Orientation Estimation Engineer (Project-Based) Focus: Estimating satellite attitude and movement from camera images Overview We are looking for a specialist who can help us compute a satellite’s orientation, attitude changes, and movement using camera images and known satellite position. This is a project-based role, open to candidates from a wide range of backgrounds, including early-career engineers, graduate students, researchers, or experienced professionals wishing to contribute. The work focuses on mathematical and geometric attitude estimation, not full satellite ADCS hardware design. You will help develop a practical method to estimate orientation using visual inputs, vector geometry, and reference data.
Key Responsibilities Estimate attitude and orientation of a satellite using camera images, Earth/horizon geometry, or visible features.
Compute rotation matrices, Euler angles, and quaternion-based changes over time.
Use known satellite orbital/positional data to improve attitude estimates.
Analyze images to extract basic geometric information needed for orientation estimation.
Implement simple Python-based scripts to demonstrate the calculations.
Document methodology clearly, including formulas, assumptions, and step-by-step reasoning.
Collaborate with our team to integrate your calculations into our internal pipeline.

Interest in satellite motion, vectors, or orientation estimation
Ability to analyze problems independently and explain reasoning clearly
