We’re looking for a Data Architect with expertise in Microsoft Fabric ecosystem. The ideal candidate will have experience in designing, implementing, and managing data solutions using Microsoft Fabric components such as OneLake, Data Factory, Synapse, Power BI, and Real-Time Analytics. This role demands a strong grasp of modern data architecture, cloud infrastructure, and full stack development to drive our data strategy and solutions. Leadership capabilities are essential, as this role involves mentoring a team of data professionals. Candidate should have ability to lead a large-scale migration from Databricks to Microsoft Fabric for one of our global enterprise clients in the audit and taxation domain. This role sits at the intersection of data architecture, cloud migration, and platform engineering — perfect for someone who thrives on designing high-impact data systems that span multiple countries and handle terabytes of data daily.
HERE’S WHAT YOU’LL DO: * Data Architecture Design: Develop and maintain scalable, secure, and efficient data architectures using Microsoft Fabric and Azure services, optimised for large data volumes and real-time analytics. * Cloud Infrastructure Management: Design and manage Azure cloud infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance, security, and cost-efficiency across Fabric workloads. * Data Integration: Implement data integration solutions using Microsoft Fabric Data Factory, Synapse Pipelines, Logic Apps, and other Azure-native tools. Prioritise Fabric-native connectors and orchestration capabilities. * Database Management: Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of databases using Azure SQL, Lakehouse architecture in OneLake, and Synapse SQL Pools. * Data Governance: Establish and enforce data governance policies using Microsoft Purview and Fabric’s built-in governance features to ensure data integrity and compliance. * Performance Optimisation: Monitor and optimise Fabric-based data systems for performance, scalability, and reliability, including real-time streaming and batch workloads. * Security Compliance: Ensure data solutions comply with enterprise security standards and regulatory requirements using Microsoft Defender for Cloud and Fabric’s security model. * Full Stack Development: Collaborate with development teams to build end-to- end data solutions, integrating Power BI dashboards, Fabric Notebooks, and backend services (.NET, C#, JavaScript). * Technical Leadership: Provide technical guidance and mentorship to Application Architects, Technical Leads, and Developers. Lead by example and foster a collaborative and innovative team environment. * Lead the migration of a multi-regional analytics platform (currently on Databricks) to Microsoft Fabric, ensuring scalability, performance, and cost efficiency. * Build and validate POCs to evaluate Fabric capabilities and guide data engineers in implementing production-grade solutions. * Collaborate with distributed teams (onshore/offshore) and business stakeholders across 6–7 countries to design a consistent, unified platform. * Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with business stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into scalable Fabric-based technical solutions. * Strategic Planning: Participate in strategic planning sessions to align data architecture initiatives with business goals, leveraging Microsoft’s unified data platform vision.
REQUIREMENTS: * 5+ years of experience in data architecture and cloud data platforms, with recent hands-on work in Microsoft Fabric and Azure. * Proven experience migrating large-scale workloads from Databricks (Delta Lake) to Microsoft Fabric. * Strong grasp of data modeling, ETL/ELT design, and data warehousing using Fabric components. * Hands-on expertise with Purview, OneLake, Synapse Pipelines, and Fabric governance/security. * Collaborative mindset — able to work closely with cross-functional teams (engineers, analysts, and stakeholders). * Ability to prototype, test, and demonstrate Fabric solutions (not just blueprint design). * Background in Azure DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, or related tooling is preferred. * Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
