Qualifications: * Knowledge of front-end technologies to enhance cross-team collaboration. * Experience working with real-time communication and event-driven systems (e.g., WebSockets, message brokers). * Experience developing servers for games or high-load systems with many concurrent connections. * Experience designing microservice architectures and working with Docker and Kubernetes.
Responsibilities: * Design, develop and maintain the game server architecture for high-load, scalable environments. * Build and support the Client Area for users — authentication, sessions, profile management, game history, and payments. * Design, develop, and maintain microservices ensuring scalability and reliability. * Implement efficient communication between services (REST, GraphQL, WebSockets). * Collaborate closely with front-end, game design, QA, and DevOps teams to ensure seamless integration. * Monitor and optimize backend performance, reliability, and security. * Participate in architectural decisions and improve engineering standards and processes. * Coordinate and mentor the backend team, ensuring high code quality and efficient delivery. Integrate, onboard, and support newcomers.
Tech Stack:
Backend: Node.js + TypeScript; Express (REST) & GraphQL; Jest unit tests, k6 load tests
Database: PostgreSQL with TypeORM; simple schemas, optimized queries & indexes; Redis for caching
Infrastructure: Terraform on AWS (EKS & RDS); Google Cloud (will be a plus), Docker, Kubernetes
CI/CD & Quality: GitHub Actions; SonarQube (will be a plus)
Docs & PM: Markdown documentation; Atlassian products for project management and knowledge base
