Job Overview
The DevOps / Systems Engineer will be responsible for maintaining, securing, and evolving the organization’s hybrid infrastructure spanning on-premises virtualization, cloud services, storage, monitoring, and automation frameworks. This role demands deep Linux expertise, hands-on experience with modern DevOps tools, and strong problem-solving abilities across multiple technology stacks.
Key Responsibilities * Manage and maintain Linux-based systems and services in production environments. * Oversee Java/Tomcat, MySQL, PowerDNS, Checkmk, Vault, OpenSearch, MinIO, and Nextcloud platforms. * Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitLab and Jenkins. * Ensure system security through CIS-based hardening and timely patch management. * Design, deploy, and monitor virtualization environments (XCP-ng and VMware). * Maintain AWS resources including EC2, S3, and VPN configurations. * Develop and maintain Ansible playbooks and GitOps workflows. * Manage SSL/TLS certificates, automation, and integrations with NGINX. * Monitor infrastructure health and performance, respond to incidents, and implement proactive improvements. * Collaborate with developers and security teams to ensure stability, scalability, and compliance.
Required Skills and Experience * Advanced Linux administration (systemd, networking, security hardening). * Strong knowledge of Tomcat, Java runtime, MySQL, and Bash/Python scripting. * Hands-on experience with Checkmk monitoring systems and custom plugin development. * PowerDNS management and advanced DNS knowledge (DNSSEC, DoH). * OpenSearch / ELK stack administration and multi-tenancy configuration. * HashiCorp Vault deployment and integration with CI/CD tools. * Experience managing MinIO, Nextcloud, and related storage environments. * Virtualization (XCP-ng, VMware) and AWS infrastructure operations. * Familiarity with Ansible, GitOps, and CI/CD workflows. * Good understanding of TCP/IP networking, VPNs, routing, and firewalls.
Preferred Qualifications * Experience with CIS hardening and security auditing frameworks. * Automation-first mindset with proven scripting and tool integration experience. * Strong documentation, communication skills and spoken English at B2 level.
