We’re looking for a PHP Developer to take ownership of several legacy Laravel-based projects that remain critical to our client’s operations. This role focuses primarily on maintenance, stability, and small incremental improvements rather than building new systems from scratch.
You’ll work independently as the sole PHP developer in a modern, cross-functional team that’s gradually transitioning to newer technologies. Your work will ensure that existing platforms — including a complex payment system built in Laravel — remain reliable, secure, and well-supported during this transition phase. Responsibilities: * Maintain and support existing Laravel-based applications. * Debug, optimize, and ensure the stability and performance of codebases. * Implement improvements and enhancements when needed. * Collaborate with other developers and stakeholders to ensure smooth integration with newer systems. * Manage databases (MySQL / PostgreSQL) and caching layers (Redis) used across projects.
✅ Requirements: * 4+ years of experience working with PHP and Laravel in production environments. * Solid understanding of MySQL or PostgreSQL, Redis, and the common Laravel ecosystem. * Comfortable working independently with minimal supervision. * Pragmatic approach — you value stability, reliability, and clean maintenance work. * Willingness to work with legacy systems and focus on incremental improvement.
Nice to Have: * Experience maintaining payment systems or other high-availability services. * Familiarity with modernization or migration projects. * Good communication skills and ability to document technical processes.
