We are seeking a Lead UI/UX Designer with deep expertise in SaaS product experience and data-driven dashboard design. This senior role will shape the user experience and visual systems that underpin our client’s multi-product SaaS portfolio. You’ll define how users see, navigate, and interact with our client’s platforms — translating complexity into clarity. You’ll also mentor and guide our clients’ design and development teams, embedding UX best practices across the product lifecycle. While this is not a coding role, a strong understanding of front-end frameworks (React, TypeScript, Vite) and component-driven design is essential to ensure your work translates seamlessly into production.
Key responsibilities
1. Product experience leadership
* Lead UX strategy and end-to-end design for SaaS applications and data dashboards.
* Translate technical and business requirements into user-centred flows, wireframes, and high-fidelity prototypes.
* Simplify complex data environments into clear, intuitive interfaces that enable insight and action.
* Partner with product managers and front-end leads to align on design feasibility and performance. Advocate for accessibility, usability, and responsive design standards.
2. Design system ownership
* Create and maintain the client’s design system and component library.
* Define tokens, grids, typography, and visual hierarchies that ensure consistency across all products.
* Collaborate with front-end teams using Storybook, style-dictionary, and its-ui-kit to operationalise designs.
* Document design principles and interaction patterns for ongoing team reference.
3. User research & validation
* Plan and conduct user testing, journey mapping, and heuristic reviews for SaaS workflows.
* Analyse findings to guide iteration and validate design direction.
* Translate feedback into actionable insights that influence roadmap priorities.
4. Mentorship & Capability building
* Coach junior and mid-level designers and front-end developers in UX principles, information hierarchy, and human-centred thinking.
* Lead UX critique sessions and foster a culture of design curiosity and collaboration.
* Provide clear, constructive feedback that helps teams balance creativity with technical practicality.
Experience & Attributes
* Minimum 7 years in UI/UX design, with 3+ years leading SaaS or enterprise-grade digital products.
* Demonstrated portfolio of SaaS dashboards or data visualisation interfaces.
* Strong communication and facilitation skills across design, technical, and executive audiences.
* Deep understanding of component-based design and how UX translates into development.
* Proven ability to mentor teams and embed repeatable UX practices in a fast-moving environment.
* Passion for clarity, usability, and measurable impact.
