Digis seeks a Senior Data Engineer with deep expertise in building data pipelines and integrating healthcare data. You will report directly to the Head of AI and Engineering and work in a high-autonomy environment with fast iteration cycles. This is a long-term, full-time and remote position.
About the Project: A cutting-edge, mission-driven HealthTech startup based in the USA, specializing in AI-powered clinical support. A platform that helps dermatologists make faster and more accurate diagnostic decisions by integrating patient data and medical images directly from Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems. This is a pre-seed stage company founded in 2023, with an MVP built, live pilots running with early clinical customers, and now growing into a full-scale product rollout and advanced ML/AI-powered services. This is an opportunity to be an early engineering hire and have a massive impact on a product that directly improves patient outcomes. Methodology: High independence, fast iteration, with weekly check-ins (no strict Agile framework). Schedule: A preferred overlap of 3–4 hours with Pacific Time (California), typically until 20:00 Kyiv time.

What you’ll do: * Design and run data pipelines for clinical event ingestion * Build real-time integrations with Epic via FHIR/HL7 APIs * Connect pipelines to downstream ML inference modules * Ensure proper error handling, observability, and updates * Help support diagnostic workflows with structured medical data
Requirements: * Senior-level experience as a Data Engineer (5+ years) * Proficiency with SQL/relational databases (4+ years) * Experience in the Healthcare domain, specifically with Integration with EHR/EMR systems (e.g., FHIR, HL7, Epic) * English proficiency sufficient for technical discussions/interviews. * Familiarity with Cloud environments and data privacy (HIPAA) is a plus.
