PROJECT
Our customer is a European startup which is building a compliance platform for AI teams preparing for the EU AI Act and beyond. The product is designed for startups and enterprises building with AI, and its goal is making it easy to identify risks related to EU AI Act implementation, generate required documentation, and stay audit-ready.
We’re looking for a Tech Lead with strong expertise in Python to lead the cross-functional team working on the development of a new product from scratch.
You’ll be working on an ambitious, technically challenging project using a modern technological stack. This is a great opportunity for someone who thrives in a startup-like environment, enjoys autonomy, and wants to shape the direction of a product from day one.
WE PROVIDE YOU WITH THE FOLLOWING EXCITING CHALLENGES * Take full ownership on end-to-end product development: from design and architecture to implementation and improvement * Collaborate with CTO (on customer side) and Product Owner to help define the technical vision and roadmap * Develop solution backend * Identify opportunities for process optimization and automation * Become a leader for a distributed engineering team in a dynamic, startup environment
WE EXPECT FROM YOU * Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field * 7+ years of experience within software engineering * Strong expertise in Python * Deep knowledge of REST & GraphQL API design * Experience with multi-tenant SaaS systems (RBAC, workspaces/projects, billing hooks) * Experience with event-driven architecture (Kafka, RabbitMQ, or cloud-native equivalents). * Experience working relational databases (PostgreSQL preferred): schema design, migrations, scaling * Experience with NoSQL (MongoDB, DynamoDB, or ElasticSearch) for logs/telemetry * Familiarity with containerization tools, especially Docker and Kubernetes * Good knowledge of authentication/authorization protocols (OAuth2, JWT, SSO) * Knowledge of unit and integration testing techniques and frameworks * Familiarity data versioning / immutability concepts (for evidence storage) * Knowledge of data encryption at rest & in transit * Awareness of runtime security basics (safe defaults, config scanning, secrets management) * Familiarity with compliance-aware logging and audit trails * Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (preferably AWS) * Experience creating CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or CircleCI) * Awareness of observability (metrics, tracing, structured logging) * Ability to create and maintain API documentation (Swagger/OpenAPI) and code-level documentation * Ability to code manually with discipline while also smartly leveraging AI tools * Excellent communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate ideas to both technical and non-technical stakeholders * High standards for code quality, performance, security, and user experience * Customer-First Thinking — designing systems that are maintainable, auditable, and ready for enterprise clients (even at MVP stage) * English proficiency at an upper-intermediate level
WOULD BE A PLUS * Exposure to AI-driven products or related technologies (including MCP) * Understanding of MLflow / W&B / SageMaker basics * Ability to design endpoints to ingest metrics/artifacts from ML tools * Familiarity with common ML evidence types (model cards, metrics, drift logs) * Previous experience working in a distributed startup environment
