As a Backend Engineer, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining web products, APIs. You will help maintain existing eCommerce architecture and write new applications and services for users who are making their purchases online. You will work closely with the Support Team and other engineering teams to implement the company’s business initiatives.
We are working on a platform eCommerce ecosystem that serves around 2 million people in the US. The project has around 15 different applications running(and growing) in order to create the best experience for our customers, as well as owners of a business. Market expansion and new features/services are the main priority for a company right now.
Responsibilities * Be part of the project Support team that develops and maintains scalable and reliable applications; * Be a proactive and responsive team member who is willing to solve customers’ requests quickly; * API development; * Understand & operate various 3rd party web tools/services/platforms; * Suggest & implement web-based solutions for business needs.
Skills and Qualifications * 2+ years of professional engineering experience; * Proficiency in PHP; * Experience with Magento 2 platform is a must; * Strong understanding of data flow in the HTTP protocol; * Understanding of MVC pattern and EAV data model; * Good knowledge of Laravel/Symfony frameworks (one or two of those); * Experience with raw PHP coding (without frameworks, legacy code); * Experience with MySQL, Redis; * Strong Git and GitHub skills; * REST API Development; * Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team; * Ability to learn quickly; * English level — A2-B1.
Nice to Have * HTML5, CSS3, LESS; * Knockout.JS; * TypeScript, React, Redux; * MongoDB; * Familiarity with principles of good user experience and data-driven decision making; * Experience in maintaining OpenSource projects will be a huge plus; * Knowledge of other Programming Languages.
